Trying to Earn Global Online from the Philippines: Going Beyond SEO Links and Establishing Blog Relationships

ViralTags has been such a successful program for this blog. As of this writing, Manila Mom has 215 blog links according to Technorati and ranks 55th at the Top 100 Philippine Blogs at Ratified.org. The climb has been unbelievable.

I have been spending hours checking my pingbacks and reciprocating links by pasting anchor texts of participants in my posts. I have the ViralTags program in my 12 blogs so you can imagine how much work that is.

I realize, though, that the real long-term value of the ViralTags links is its use as another means of establishing real blog relationships. You can do this by going a step further than just reciprocating links. You can visit and revisit the blogs linked to you and create conversations. This will encourage them to come visit your blog, too, and create conversations there.

Visiting as many blogs as possible also exposes us to more ideas that we can expound on in our own blogs. This not only helps us create more content but also enriches the blogosphere.

I certainly hope that as ViralTags continues to bring me more links, it will also help me establish a wider blog network of reciprocal readers.
