What a laugh! Just shows how out of touch I've been. Thanks to a comment left by April Kerr in the previous post, I learned about the Google PR backlash against paid posting bloggers. My timing for enrolling really sucks, huh?
I was initially asking for advice but after doing some reading around more knowledgeable blogs, I'm taking April's advice and theirs and backing off this venture. Whew! At least I learned just in time, before starting anything I'd regret.

Yeah, Google is really cracking down on those sorts of things. I think it's the fault of people who maintain blogs strictly for advertising and don't put the slightest bit of effort into it. Once again, a tiny minority of unscrupulous people ruins it for us all.
There are still plenty of ways to make money online, though...it just takes a little searching.
While I never made a post for PPP, Google penalized me for other sponsored reviews because I didn't add nofollow to the links.
Good thing you learned about it just in time :)
So all kinds of sponsored posts and reviews are off limits? I guess I have a lot of searching to do for other online earning opportunities.
I'm sorry to hear about your blog having been penalized, Brown Baron. A few sponsored reviews shouldn't have offset the overall great quality of the blog. This is really sad.
Hi Maia,
Could you please send me your email address so I can send you a proposal for Mad Crowd Media if you're interested? :)

As long as you do not include reviews or paid links offers in text, that should not be a problem. Some keywords such as text-links.com, text links ads, paid links, sponsored links and etc are marked by Google and site will be penalized when the spiders spot them. be real careful on this, my clients was demoted to PR0 for having the terms Review By Me sitewide.

Hello Manila Mom!
Hello,
I'm writing to you because I'd like to feature you and your blog!
Nostalgia Manila does a popular segment called Nostalgia Bloggista, which features our very own top Pinoy Bloggers answering these 5 simple questions:
1. Where did you grow up, and what made that place special?
2. What was your favorite tv show, cartoon, or children's show growing up? What did you like about these shows that made them your favorite?
3. Favorite music group or artist? Most memorable song?
4. Share with our readers one of your fondest memories of growing up.
5. What do you miss from back then that's not available today?
If you'd like to be featured, please email back the answers to these questions, along with the URL of your blog, and a photo of you when you were young. (Preferably a photo of when you were a kid, or teenager in the '70s or '80s.) To view our past Nostalgia Bloggista features, you can check out:

Sincerely,
--Nostalgia Manila (nostalgiamanilamail[at]yahoo[dot]com)
gosh! i really have no idea about these things. help!
Wow, I didn't realize those penalties were so harsh ... Too bad people like you have to suffer because of an action aimed at scammers.
google really want to monopolize the online advertising market
their tool is PR and the advertisers gave them the power
I was also looking into this! Glad I read your blog so I won't be including it in my site - there are loads of other ways to make money online though, so it's not too bad.
Great blog by the way :)
Hi MJ,
Google hates PPP. A top earning blog of mine has now been reduced to a PR-0. Hahaha!
There are many other programs that allows you to make money. Just a little research will enable you to find one.
For start, why not try about.com that pays a minimum $725/month with some making about $10,000 per month. That site is owned by the NYTimes so it's very legit.
You may of course, send me an email and I can pass on a trick or two.
Regards,
Google has seemed to have forgave bloggers for the offenses that they punished them for. I know many bloggers who have recovered well. Hopefully you are getting to make money now.
